Kingdom Kids Carnival Fundraiser! Volunteers needed

Kingdom Kids Carnival Fundraiser!
Volunteers are needed.

January 16th
5:30pm - 8:30pm

Kingdom Kids, the preschool located at Christ Community Church, is raising money for scholarships to help families that need financial help so their child can attend a Christian preschool.  Due to changes in policies, state money is no longer available for this opportunity since a Christian curriculum is used at the school.

AHG will be helping run games and different areas of the carnival.  Here are a few ways to help:
·      AHG girls can help with their parent (no permission slip needed but sign up is necessary)
·      AHG girls can participate individually and will have a leader responsible for them during their volunteer time.  Another AHG child will be with them as a buddy throughout the volunteer time. (permission slip is necessary)
·      Parents…we could use you too!  Are you able to volunteer your time either with your child or help keep track of the AHG girls that are helping out?

More information and online signup can be found at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a054fa5a72ea64-kingdom1/  .  If signing up to help, please also e-mail Jessica W. at mominmn@gmail.com so we can ensure enough adults are available to help and supervise.

*Food is provided to volunteers during this activity.*

TOTAL $ RAISED for Creating Hope 4 Cambodia

AMAZING!!!! job girls...that's all I gotta say about the total amount of money raised by Troop 0521.  :)

Our goal was to raise $500.  That amount would send 1 girl in Cambodia to school.  That amount would help save not only this little girl from a life of sadness and an unknown future but also provide a future for a family.  The girls in this country are not the only ones that are impacted by the amount of money raised through the ministry of Creating Hope 4 Cambodia.  By letting a girl stay in school we are helping brothers, sisters, moms and dads as well...because if a child goes to school, a future of hope is opened for these families as well.

Below I will share with you how much You were the hands and feet of Jesus the past few weeks at AHG...but first...let's recap:

  • You got a little dirty...putting glue all over trees (which raised $70!)
  • You painted some chalkboards on Operation Christmas Child boxes (over 900 left the doors at Christ Community Church alone!)
  • You carefully measured, helped and guided a mixture of ingredients into a hole in a jar...which is not small task! (the Cookie Jar mixes raised over $170!)
  • You searched in all those hidden spots where coins could be found and brought in over $325 in week 1...and yes, that was a lot of pennies to count.  ;)
  • You made yummy food and crafts at home and brought them to sell...which raised over $50.
  • Many of you stood at a table for an hour or more telling people about AHG and how you worked as a group to make the items sitting at the table.
  • Prayers were given over the shoeboxes, cookie jars, trees and goodies...and those words will impact more people than we will ever know.
Hands and feet...

AHG Troop 0521...you helped raise over $650 for the Creating Hope 4 Cambodia Sale!
Thank YOU!  and Thank YOU parents, volunteers and leaders for letting your girls be part of this event, finding your change, heating up your ovens and using those hands to help your girls make items at home and bringing them to serve at Service Night and at the sale.

DON'T FORGET...SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGING SIGN-UP!  Our dates is coming up to help.  Sign up online (view the posts in this blog to find the times available) or grab a time at the AHG meeting on Dec. 1st!

Service Reminders for AHG Meeting on Monday, November 17th

Hi Girls (and families!)
Girls...I can't wait to give you the update on how much money was raised the past 2 weeks by YOU!  Get those hands ready to clap and ready to scream...cause I think a few of you will be letting out some screams of joy at the meeting on Monday.  ;)

Just a few quick reminders about service items going on Monday, November 17th.

1)  Fill and bring in those Operation Christmas Child boxes!  The girls helped paint the boxes during our service night with chalkboard paint and also made tic-tac-toe boards.  Be sure to include some chalk and/or tic-tac-toe pieces.  Didn't get any tic-tac-toe pieces in your box?  You can make these at home...just cut out 10 pieces of cardboard and write x's on 5 and o's on the other 5.  Monday, November 17th, will be the last time AHG will be meeting before the boxes are sent to children around the world through this organization.  If you forget...Calvary E. Free church will be collecting boxes as well and you can find more info here at this link:  Calvary E. Free OCC Box Collection & Volunteer Opps.

2)  Don't forget those coins (and dollars...if that is easier ;) for our coin war that will go to benefit Creating Hope 3 Cambodia!  We have done the count from the last meeting and let's just say...YOU GIRLS ROCK!  We are so close to reaching our goal and I know that with one more meeting we can make it happen.  Look for your patrol color and drop those coins in at the start of the meeting.  The bags will be waiting for you on the stage.

3)  Salvation Army Bell Ringing.  The sign-ups are online and at the meeting...so find a time that works best and get those hands ready to ring bells and bring in some money for the Salvation Army!  Parents...you need to join them for this one...so get those arms pumped and vocal chords ready so you can ring and belt out some tunes with your AHG child.  ;)

4)  One LAST chance to buy trees (that you made!) and Cookies in a Jar (that you made!).  We only have a few left from our service night that didn't sell at the Creating Hope 4 Cambodia sale last weekend.  If you are interested...these will be available to buy outside room 300 before AHG on Monday night.  The trees are $10 (there are 2 left out of the 9 that were made) and the Cookies in a Jar are $6 (there are 9 left out of the 36 that were made).  Cash (right amount, please!) or checks are accepted.  All proceeds will go to Creating Hope 4 Cambodia!

See ya on Monday!
